My therapeutic approach

My holistic, psychotherapeutic mind-body approach is grounded in neuroscience and the understanding that the mind and the body are inextricably linked, constantly influencing each other.

When this mind-body connection becomes unbalanced, physical and mental suffering can arise - often manifesting as chronic physical symptoms. My goal is to help you recognise this connection and to restore balance in the communication between body and mind.

Throughout therapy, I will use psychoeducation to explain the role of chronic symptoms, the function of the autonomic nervous system, and the brain's neuroplasticity in shaping your experience.

All pain is real felt in the body and in no way imagined or "just in your head". However, this does not mean that you are "sick". You may simply be caught in a cycle of fear and pain, with your autonomic nervous system stuck in survival mode.

Together we will practice ways to cultivate greater flexibility and ease in how you relate to your chronic symptoms, thoughts, beliefs, emotions and nervous system responses.

You already have the inner resources to overcome your chronic suffering - you may simply be missing the right tools. Together we will create a personalised toolkit of psychotherapeutic techniques and excersises tailored to your needs.

My goal is to empower you to help yourself by equipping you with effective mind-body tools that you can continue using independently in the future.
